Lil Za is not pleased with the negative attention he has received following his recent arrest.
The rapper, who was taken into custody earlier this week for possession of narcotics, took to Twitter on Thursday morning to express his anger following the incident.
“Honestly, the media is making me someone I’m not . But only those in my shoes can relate … These ppl get paid to make you look bad.”
In a series of tweets, Xavier Smith, the rapper’s legal name also pulled the race card, writing:
“Some stuff I’ve done has been wrong yes. But look at the position I’m in and the color of my skin. Cocaine? Really?”
“All this time I was home in tx nobody gave a f*ck about what Za is doing … Soon as he gets to La he’s all over the news.”
On Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, Smith was taken into custody for felony cocaine possession during a raid inside his friend, Justin Bieber’s Calabasas home.
Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at the Bieb’s property in hopes of finding evidence linking him to a felony vandalism investigation. That’s when deputies discovered cocaine in plain sight that allegedly belonged to Za.
Later that evening, just minutes before being released on a reported $20,000 bail, the rapper was arrested again for vandalism. According to reports, the star was on a phone inside the jailhouse when he started yelling and slamming the receiver against the wall.
