[HollywoodLife] It was complete and utter mayhem when 4000 Kanye West fans flooded streets around Webster Hall, near Union Square in NYC to see a surprise Yeezy concert on June 5. As Kanye rode through the streets on top of a car to the delight of incredulous fans, the chaos only got worse.
After Kanye’s headlining performance was canceled at Governor’s Ball on June 4 due to severe weather conditions, fans who had paid good money to see the prolific rapper were disappointed, to put it lightly. But Kanye surprised his NYC fans by announcing a show the next night, immediately after his set at Summer Jam in New Jersey, hitting Webster Hall around midnight.
So many fans showed up to the venue that the show was ultimately canceled. Yeezy hasn’t personally commented on the cancellation, however, his wifey, Kim Kardashian did.
“Last night was crazy! Kanye wished he could have performed last night and really tried so hard but it was ultimately out of his control,” Kim wrote on Instagram. “He has the best fans in the whole world, thank you all for coming out at 2am. Promise he will make up this pop up show!”
West did however did help tear down the stage at day two of Summer Jam at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The rapper appeared alongside Pusha T, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Designer on Saturday and perform hits like “Famous,” “IDFWI” and “Grindin.”
