George Zimmerman Got Booted From a Bar for Using the N-Word

Down in Florida, George Zimmerman, the killer of Trayvon Martin, was at a bar when he accused a black man of hitting him, at which point he became belligerent and used the N-word. The incident got him kicked out of the bar.

A Seminole County deputy was originally called to the bar for an incident involving someone else who was with Zimmerman, according to the New York Daily News. The disturbance involving Zimmerman began while the deputy was in the back reviewing security footage with the bar manager.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Zimmerman was Corona Cigar Co., a bar near Sanford, Florida. Floyd L. Narcisse, a 38-year-old black pastor at an AME church in Daytona Beach, was also at the bar. A bar video shows Narcisse extend his hand to Zimmerman, and when Zimmerman refused to shake his hand, Narcisse patted Zimmerman on his left arm twice. The incident report said, “It appeared as if he was attempting to engage in a friendly gesture with Zimmerman as a reasonable person would do.”

But Zimmerman didn’t see it that way. He told a Seminole County deputy that Narcisse had hit him twice, and demanded that Narcisse should be prosecuted.

“That man’s crazy,” Narcisse told the Orlando Sentinel. Narcisse said he was just being nice, and that he sees Zimmerman quite a bit at the bar. He claims he tapped Zimmerman on the shoulder and said, “Hey, George. How are you?” Instead of a friendly interaction, Narcisse said, “The next thing I know, cops say he wants to press charges.” He described the incident, saying, “I’m very cordial with the man, but yesterday, he was belligerent. He was yelling. … He was rude to everybody.”

The bar manager said that Zimmerman is the cause “of several recent disturbances” at the bar. The manager claims to have asked Zimmerman to leave because he grabbed a credit card away from an employee and yelled at her for trying to collect the bill. According to TMZ, Zimmerman said while leaving, “I didn’t know you were a [N-word] lover.”

In his sworn voluntary statement form about the alleged attack, Zimmerman wrote that the deputy “is an incompetent officer under qualified to flip burgers.” CBS News reports that Zimmerman told the deputy that he’d remember him, and that he planned to sue the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
