Dear Qui Talks: Bring Back Hobbies!

Dear Qui Talks,

Ever went on an interview and one of the questions they always ask, “What do you do on your free time?” Or “What are your favorite hobbies?”

What do you normally answer???

If you are like me, your answer would be…“I am always working or busy, I don’t really have time for hobbies. Bills have to get paid.” or “My job/career is my hobby.”

Ever thought why you didn’t get the job!?!?!

Well, I can tell you now that was the wrong answer. We all get so consumed with life, we forget how to live for ourselves. We forget that life consists of self-love and self-care.

Do you remember as a child when you would be able to indulge yourself in something that brings you joy and you didn’t get paid for it? Do it again! We all program our minds with the nonsense of, “If I am not getting paid for it, why should I do it?”

We need to bring back our hobbies. Being able to do something outside of your everyday job or school brings peace. That is all we are in search of – peace. Being able to release all the nonsense the day has brought and exerting it into your hobby is an amazing feeling. Let’s have a flashback when you would have a bad day at school but couldn’t wait until after school because you would be able to leave the bad at school and bask in the moment while running track, attending dance class, or even flipping at gymnastics. That bad day at school no longer exists.

Well, guess what!? You can do the same as an adult. Hobbies aren’t just for kids. Adult hobbies are way cooler! Try one out today. I promise it will change your life.

Talkers, this is for you!
