Dear Qui Talks: Beware of What Sound is Affecting Your Energy!

Dear Qui Talks,

Energy….Energy is a concept I’ve always known of but never really knew I had control. No one had ever told me that I can control my own energy or I can control someone affecting my energy. Until now!

What is energy?….Energy is the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity.

This is a generic definition that I got from Google. Crazy how that same definition is exactly what describes both human and electrical energy. We have the right to control the strength or vitality to mentally be stable and happy. We can not allow the anger or attitude of others to alter our energy. What we feed our energy is what evolves in our mind. Try feeding your energy with positive affirmations and let me know how your day turns out. Now let someone feed your energy with trash talk and let me know what happens.

Words are sound. Sound is energy.

Beware of what sound is affecting your energy. Not all words are meant to elevate you. Some are meant to reduce your energy! Those people you call your friend, but they seem to have nothing positive to ever say, are not your friends. The type of sound you allow to consume your space is the type of energy you exude.

Take a moment and think about the sounds (words) you hear all day. Are they energy suckers (I’m talking about feeling exhausted, bored, irritated, stressed, anxious, threatened, overwhelmed or depressed after just a few moments in that person’s company) or adding to your energy.

Here’s how to protect yourself from being drained.

This is a two-pronged approach. First, you need to assess your own emotional capacity. Second, assess how much of a threat to you the energy vampire is. Weighing both these aspects will help you decide what action you need to take. (World of Psychology)

Talkers, what are those sounds around you that may be sucking the energy out of you? It may be time for some spring cleaning!
