Dear Qui Talks,
Majority of us are stuck in a life where we dwell on what others have and/or may be doing. Then we compare it to our lives and what we don’t have. We seem to never compare it to what you already have. (Stop rolling your eyes! You know it’s true!) We know we shouldn’t worry about other’s gain but we still do. We are quick to post on social media when you are having a great time but comment on those who do the same… “You know, she is not really living like that!” ….Well, are you?
We are quick to compare our looks, career, education, skin tone, the way we speak, the color of our eyes, the length of our hair, the silkiness of our hair, the color of our toes, the design on our nails, the type of weave we have in our hair, the amount of money we make, the type of job we do, the amount of hours we work in a week, the country our family is from, the type of coffee we drink, the color of our hair, the style of our hair, the way we dress, the way our body is shaped, the fatness of our butt, the size of our boobs, the type of workout we do, the food we eat, the way we cook, our source of transportation, the hieght of our guy, the height of our girl, the way our instagram pictures look like, the colors a person wears, the kind of purse a person carries, the type of sneaker a person wears, the amount of Jordans a person owns, the amount of kids a person has, whether someone is married without kids, whether someone is not married with kids, if our kids are involved in bad things, what our relationship looks like, what our friend’s relationship looks like, how many girls we are talking to at once, how many guys we are talking to at once, what we will look like if we answer the phone after the first ring, what will we look like if we call someone the same day we get their number, if we want to do something our friends do not approve of, whether we are “still” allowed to date the same-sex in “2018,” whether we are sleeping on an airbed for a year, whether we have furniture in our apartment, telling the truth about yourself vs withholding information to make others comfortable, eating vs impressing your friends, having sex just to keep someone’s attention….
(IF YOU CAN THINK OF OTHER THINGS WE ALL COMPARE, PLEASE COMMENT BELOW!)
Some of these things may sound ridiculous but you will be surprised how many people think about these things. The list about were just a few of many I have heard throughout my lifespan.
What happen to just enjoying what you have with yourself. A gift is for you, not for everyone else to enjoy. Majority of the time, no one really cares what you have and if they do, some of them are just tuning in to see if you haven’t fallen flat on your face, yet! The other small percentage that really cares, won’t find out about your victories via social media. Pretty sure they will be the first to know.
Plus, we waste so much time focusing on the perfect pic that we lose the time that could’ve been spent enjoying the company of loved ones and time you will NEVER get back.
With that said…
ENJOY YOUR LIFE…STOP COMPARING IT TO OTHERS…YOU ARE YOUR OWN LITTLE SNOWFLAKE…NONE ARE ALIKE…ENJOY YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU KNOW HOW. (JUST LOOK UP!)
