Dear Qui Talks: I Am Doing A Different Fast!

Dear Qui Talks,

If you have been reading all of my post for the past two months, I have been in a weird season of my life. Since getting back to NY for vacation, my life has been in a weird spiral. Things that I never knew would happen in my life, has happened! Family, friends, and work has been a zigzag roller-coaster. Right before heading to my mind-uncluttering vacation to Miami, I have decided to start a fast before I return.

When many people think of fasting, they automatically relate it to the restriction of food. I believe a fast is the restriction of a vice; something you do everyday or on a regular bases. That is what my fast contains. I am fasting from something I do every single day to relieve stress or keep my mind off of my stress. For many people that can contain anything other that food. Do you have a coffee addiction, watch TV to much, or even use your credit/debit card way more often than you are suppose too? Try fasting from those things. I plan on doing this for more than 21 days. I am going to fast for 40 days/40 nights.

In the bible, Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God. When all seems to be going wrong and you can not control the process, pray and fast. At the end of the day, his plans or not your plans. So if you keep trying something and nothing is changing, surrender it all to him and let his plan work.

Sincerely,

A Girl On A Fast!

Acts 14:23

23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust
